I've set a new record for myself today... was trying to get to work and unfortunately, me dad took the car today. Spent 45 minutes calling 5 different cab companies on the house phone and handphone simultaneously... and no cab...
There are like what?? 7 cab companies in singapore with their own fleets of thousands of cabs... and there's not a single cab who can take a call at my estate. Yet i see cabs of different colors and companies sporting the On Call sign as they drove by... what happened to my call??

you tried calling comfort? they has a system that they will detect cabs near your location and auto assign jobs to them, they can't reject. but available to class A drivers [those who has a good record etc]. this is of cos IF you can get thru their HOTline and there are cabs ard ur area....
Yup. It is very difficult to get a cab in BP. Sigh...
I agree. It can be bad at peak hours. It's also true that Cabbies can be picky. They tend not to want to go to off-central places.
hehe... yup 45 mins.. that includes calling Comfort, City Cab, Smart Cab, Trans Cab, SMRT cab...
and i got through on all calls... its just the waiting and there doesn't seem to be a cab available to take the call...
