Yummy...

Finally went to the Japanese restaurant that I liked and had the long-desired Japanese meal.... totally yummy!! The name of the restaurant is Matsuo Restaurant, located at Goldhill Plaza - the one that looks like an orange-colored rocket near Novena MRT Station.

They've recently renovated their restaurant so instead of having that old, dingy sliding door for an entrance, it's now in modern veneer finish. However, there's still no signboard upfront so it's either you know the place or you'll definitely miss it. It's just right next to the Internet gaming centre at Goldhill Plaza.

KK ordered a Matsu Bento (the original name was longer and I can't remember it) and I had the Saba Shioyaki. Of course, we shared so we can have a taste of everything... keke... The bento is really a value-for-money deal because it gives you a taste of everything, from sushi to sashimi to tempura. The Saba Shioyaki was grilled perfectly.... just a perfect touch of natural fish oils with a very tiny slight hint of salt to bring out the fresh and sweet flavor of the fish. Yummulicious. And the best part is, the ingredients are fresh!!

If you ever thought Sakae sushi or any of those conveyor belt stuff are good... think again!! And try out this place. But note the operation hours though... they are usually open for lunch and dinner only... which means they close abt 2 pm and open again abt 6 - 7pm (not sure of dinner hours). Lunch hours have less people than dinner time, so might be a good chance to enjoy the quiet comfort of a cozy family restaurant.
